I’m Mauro Ochoa, founder of Patagonia Drift. For over 20 years, I’ve guided fly fishers across the rivers and lakes of Argentine Patagonia, as well as the legendary waters of Norway.

What began as a personal journey became a family-run guiding company when my son Eliseo joined me. Today, we are based in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina, guiding anglers throughout Patagonia.

I specialize in fly fishing for trout, sea trout, and Atlantic salmon, and I’m a certified Scandinavian Spey casting instructor and ambassador for LTS Fly Fishing.

Beyond fishing, I’m also a professional big-game hunting guide and a Fine Art Photographer, with a deep connection to wild landscapes and natural light. These experiences shape the way I guide—with patience, precision, and a deep respect for nature.
